Never shy in playing up to his action man image, in 2019 President
Putin was filmed manning a James Bond-style submarine in order to
investigate the wreck of a Soviet submarine that had been sunk
during World War II at the bottom of the Gulf of Finland. The
Russian leader descended 60 meters (200 feet) in the $2.4 million
(£1.9m) submarine to explore the shipwreck. It's not the only time
the leader has used such a vehicle; in 2015, Putin piloted a
submarine during a controversial visit to the Crimea peninsula.
