Freddie Mercury's 1974 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow was
purchased by the singer’s company Goose Productions Ltd in
1979 and was used by Freddie until his death in November
1991; it has remained with his family since. The car’s
paperwork includes a letter confirming that the Silver
Shadow, registered WLX 293M, was purchased for Freddie’s
personal use. However, Mercury didn't have a driving
licence so relied on chauffeurs. Last used for the
premiere of the Queen musical We Will Rock You in 2002,
the 6.75-litre, V8-engined car with automatic transmission
is still in the same visual condition as when Freddie last
used it..
