In 1954 the F-88 was a Motorama “Dream Car” and was one of
only two complete – with an unconfirmed possible two ‘shells’ –
ever created. The F-88 presented here is literally the only car
left of its kind and was acquired by the Hendricks Collection at
the prestigious Barrett-Jackson Auto Auction in Scottsdale,
Arizona for an auction record $3,240,000. After spending decades
as a collection of parts stored in wooden crates, the F-88 was
painstakingly reassembled and offered for sale at the 2007
auction. Today it is a museum.
