Sold for $91,000

Conceived to offer dominating performance in a stylish wrapping, the Plymouth GTX was introduced in 1967 as Plymouth’s first “total package” muscle car. The GTX was at its best when equipped with the 426/425 HP Hemi engine, and in 1969 it was better than ever. Standard equipment abounded; the base GTX was factory outfitted with heavy-duty suspension, shock absorbers and brakes, a 70-amp battery, dual horns, Red Streak tires, foam-cushioned bucket seats and vinyl trim. A believed three-owner example restored in 2003 in Minnesota, this Saddle Bronze 1969 Hemi GTX builds on all that factory goodness with the potent Hemi engine backed by a New Process 4-speed and Super Track Pack 9.75-inch rear end. Built at the St. Louis, Missouri, assembly plant and sold new at Johnson Garage in Browerville, Minnesota, this is one of only 98 Hemi 4-speed GTX Coupes built in 1969 for sale in the United States out of a total production of 196.
