Initially, the concept of the paddle shifter had drivers excited, but as this addition has aged it’s not all that great. Paddle shifting doesn’t replace the feeling of driving a stick shift, in addition to that most cars that are equipped with paddle shifter have a CVT transmission. The paddle shifters are a great idea if you are a professional racer, but in the real world, you’ll hardly ever use these. Driving with a stick shift connects you to the car like nothing else, but paddle shifters are just another thing to be fixed.
