Getting around can be a huge challenge for people in poverty. Owning a car is often too expensive when you factor in gas, insurance, and repairs. Even public transportation can eat up a big chunk of a low income. This lack of reliable transportation makes it hard to get to work, especially if better job opportunities are far away. Being unable to move around freely limits opportunities and keeps people stuck in poverty.
