This type of person has an odd habit of always comparing you
to others. They’ll tell you about how “successful” your mutual
friend is or how someone else seems to be “doing better.”
While occasional admiration for others is healthy, the constant
comparer uses it as a tactic to make you feel less accomplished,
often in ways that feel pointed. When someone can’t appreciate you
without sizing you up against others, it can harm your self-esteem
and chip away at your self-worth.
