In 2012, American Chopper
star Paul Teutul Jr., of Paul Jr. Designs, built this bike in
honor of those who lost their lives during the terrorist attacks
on September 11, 2001. As a testament to the city’s resilience and
the rebuilding of the World Trade Center, the top of the
skeleton-like frame is detailed with a series of ribs flanking
either side to resemble a similar design element at the memorial
site. The front fork is fashioned like girders, while the exhaust
is modeled after the trade tower itself. Gold-plated badging with
the words “9/11 Memorial” appears on the front, as well as “NY” on
the left side and “Never Forget” on the right—the latter set above
a depiction of the original twin towers. Also on the lower right
are two offset square indentations representing the two structural
footprints.
