Cord was a division of Auburn
Automobile Company that produced some of the nicest cars at the
time. This manufacturer is the first to produce a front wheel
drive car in America, and their business was blooming. Cord pushed
through the depression with reduced production, but even so they
were one of the better standing car manufacturers after the
economy stabilized. Their cars were always made with incredible
attention to detail, and were full of innovative concepts. Even
though they were well off, Cord went out of business when the
whole Auburn Automobile Company shut down in 1937.
