Seeing the success of the Lotus Elise inspired German firm Yes! to come up with a similar machine using a turbocharged Volkswagen 1.8-liter engine. Like the Lotus, the engine was mid-mounted in an aluminum chassis with composite bodywork. However, the Yes! tipped the scales at 900KG (1984LB) compared to the original Elise’s 731KG (1612LB).
