When BMW redesigned the 7 Series in 2002, it took a major roll of the dice with a wild design. And while BMW has tacitly admitted that it got a few details wrong--the trunk, in particular, has been restyled since--the basic shape has aged well. Since the revised 7 Series isn't out yet, the 2002 still looks like the current-generation car, so for 17 large you're getting a 70-grand driving experience in one of the few big sedans that really likes to hustle.
