As celebrities gathered at the gala, held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, more than 1,000 pro-Palestinian protesters marched toward the event, the New York Post reported.

They succeeded in briefly shutting down Park Avenue and marched up Fifth Avenue, but were blocked from reaching the gala by police, who made several arrests.
