SUVs have made a marked improvement in safety features over the years, and the 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe is a great example of a vehicle that has pushed the envelope after years in the middle of the pack. The latest edition scored the highest possible rating in every crash test as well as for its front crash prevention system and headlight safety. It is the first time Santa Fe won Top Safety Pick+. Santa Fe Sport also received the highest IIHS rating for 2017.
