The Riviera name entered Buick
lexicon in 1949 with the Roadmaster Riviera coupe. It came around
again, joined with the famous Electra name later in the '50s but
never really found a home until the 1963 model year. The sleek
Rivs featured Nailhead engines in either 401 or 425 cubic inches
and three-speed transmissions. If you ask someone about old
Buicks, this will probably be the one they come up with.
