Since the Cuban revolution in 1960, the
island of Cuba could not import any American or European built
cars. So the people of Cuba were forced to maintain its fleet of
large 1950's American made cars which are now classics. Many
of these cars were brought in by wealthy Americans during the hey
day of the 1950's in Havana. Most of these appeared to very
popular Chevrolets, Fords, Buicks and other very popular makes.
Today they stand out like something from the past. Most
still run and take over the streets of Havanah.
